Here we learn about the state of the worlds and what our "real" characters feel and what they are going to do. Basically, that's how the story unfolds:įusion Arc (the next after Reality) tell us about the real world and the world of Library being "fused together", as the name suggests.

(I'll mark it as a spoiler just in case people don't want to know stuff that far). There is more to it, ofc, especially considering all the small bits of info we got about nightmares from current story on GL and how Elimination Arc goes on JP. Instead it's probably more accurate to think of it as some sort of alternate dimension.Īs of now, I think it's a place where all kinds of stories and records are being preserved and some beings native to Library can interact with this knowledge if they wish. But I don't think still that the library is specifically any sort of afterlife. It's definitely canon though that the dead can end up here, as evidenced with every single person in the Reality Arc. Some say it's a purgatory, but I don't really buy into that because there's a lot of evidence to suggest otherwise, such as 2B in the Automata event experiencing the library almost as a sort of "dream". We know where The Library came from, but pinpointing exactly WHAT the library is is still a bit of a mystery. (Which is funny because I think they originally had no intention of SINO having anything to do with Drakengard/Nier. All of this is essentially revealed in Drakengard 3 collaboration event that Japan has gotten and that Global is still eagerly anticipating. This in turns leads into Drakengard 1 and the Nier games, but that's a lore dive for another thread.) into what is essentially medieval Europe, radically changing the course of events for that world's future. here you go.Īll we know about The Library is that originated in "The Cataclysm", an event in the Drakengard universe that introduced the Cathedral City, magic, dragons, and The Flower (An unknown entity that goes on to infect the protagonist of Drakengard 3 and has the ultimate goal of wiping out humanity, ending the world, etc. This is going to be going into immense spoilers for Yoko Taro's other works buuuuuut.
